about

State Strategy for the Safety and Support of Children and Young People

This submission was prepared as our feedback on the draft State Strategy for the Safety and Support of Children and Young People.

It supports the Strategy’s commitment to prevention, early intervention, family preservation and Aboriginal self-determination while calling for stronger accountability, measurable outcomes and practical action to improve the experiences of children, young people and families.

The submission recommends practical changes including active efforts, stronger family participation, transparent reporting, clearer measures of success, and priority investment in key supports such as housing, disability services, mental health support and peer programs. Together, these reforms aim to ensure families experience meaningful change, not just policy commitments.
